Assessment Notice Information

Assessment notices have now been mailed to property owners within the RM of Buckland.

It is important to understand that your assessment notice is not your tax notice. The purpose of the assessment notice is to inform you of your property's assessed value and provide an opportunity to review the information used in determining that assessment.

At this time, the RM's mill rate has not been set, so we are unable to determine what impact your new assessment will have on your property taxes. Property taxes are calculated using both your property's assessed value and the mill rate established during the budget process.

The assessment notice you received contains only a summary of your property's assessment. It does not include the detailed property information used to determine your assessed value, such as land details, buildings, improvements, and other property characteristics.

We encourage property owners to review this detailed information to ensure it accurately reflects the land and buildings they own.

Detailed assessment information is available in two ways:

Option 1: Contact the RM Office
Our staff can provide detailed assessment information and answer questions about your property assessment.

Option 2: Access Your Assessment Information Online
Property owners can view detailed assessment information online. Please follow the instructions here to access the online assessment portal.

Reviewing your detailed assessment information is the best way to confirm that the assessment is based on accurate information about your property. If you identify any discrepancies or have questions about your assessment, please contact the RM office.

For assistance, please contact the RM of Buckland office during regular business hours.
