CEO SPRING 2027 LAUNCH LETTER
SPRING 2027 TREE SALES NOW OPEN!
HELP International Shelterbelt Center
Early-Bird Discounts and Bonuses — Save Up to 17%
A Personal Message from the Founder and CEO
Dear Friends, Customers, and Prairie Communities,
I am pleased to announce that HELP International Shelterbelt Center is now accepting orders for Spring 2027!
For more than three decades, HELP International has worked to make hardy, affordable shelterbelt trees and shrubs available to farmers, acreage owners, rural communities, municipalities, and other landowners throughout Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Alberta.
Our mission remains unchanged: to help Prairie residents establish successful, long-lasting shelterbelts, improve their properties, protect their land, and contribute to a greener and more sustainable Prairie landscape.
A NEW TREE-PLANTING SEASON — AND EXCELLENT SAVINGS!
Our Spring 2027 early-bird order discounts decline by one percentage point each month:
October 2026: 7% | November: 6% | December: 5% | January 2027: 4% | February: 3% | March: 2% | April: 1%.
Special early-bird discounts apply to online orders AND paper orders paid by cheque at the time of ordering. Paper orders paid by e-transfer do not qualify for early-bird discounts. All methods of purchase qualify for 5% bonus trees plus an additional 5% bonus for customers who pick up their orders at the nursery. These bonuses are additional to any applicable early-bird discount; the published offer is described as up to 17% in combined benefits.
We encourage customers to plan spring shelterbelt projects early, allowing time to select suitable tree varieties, ages, sizes, and planting arrangements.
A LARGE AND DIVERSE PRAIRIE NURSERY
In addition to approximately 600,000 tree seedlings, HELP now carries approximately 50,000 potted saplings. These figures reflect HELP’s nursery production and stock in multiple growing systems, including our floating production facilities, underground Styroblock nurseries, bunching nurseries, and potted-tree facilities. Individual varieties and sizes are subject to current availability and confirmation.
We offer fast-growing hybrid poplars, willows, evergreen conifers, deciduous shade trees, lilacs, caragana, and many other hardy varieties.
AFFORDABLE TREE PRICES
Regular bulk seedling pickup prices for most varieties in orders of 50 or more trees begin at $2.50 each for one-year-old seedlings, $3.50 for two-year-old seedlings, and $4.50 for three-year-old seedlings. Smaller orders and certain varieties or sizes have different pricing; please refer to the current online product listing or contact HELP for a quote.
We also supply larger potted trees and saplings for customers seeking more immediate height and landscape impact.
SOME OF OUR SPECIAL TREE VARIETIES
Prairie Sky Poplar: One of our fastest-growing fuzzless hybrid poplars, comparable to Okanese in growth rate. Under suitable conditions, these varieties can establish a substantial shelterbelt wall in approximately seven years with appropriate spacing and watering.
Okanese Poplar: Another exceptionally fast-growing, fuzzless hybrid poplar for rapid shelterbelt development.
Sundance Poplar: HELP considers Sundance among the hardiest fast-growing, narrow-form fuzzless poplars. At approximately ten years it can reach 30 feet high while remaining around six feet wide. It is especially useful where yard space is limited and for planting alternately with spruce at approximately three-metre spacing.
Caragana: Among the most drought-hardy shrubs for the Prairies. Its relative herbicide tolerance makes it a useful outside shelterbelt row facing agricultural land where herbicides are used.
White Spruce, Blue Spruce, Scots Pine and Larch: Excellent choices for long-term evergreen wind protection and shelterbelt diversity.
MORE THAN THREE DECADES OF PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE
Since founding HELP International in 1993, I have remained committed to affordable, practical solutions for shelterbelt establishment. Our Shelterbelt Center combines nursery production, field experience, research, tree planting, irrigation development and technical guidance.
HELP has developed and patented a floating tree-production and live-storage system. Our work has included farm, acreage, municipal, rural and industrial projects, with experience in shelterbelt design, erosion-control plantings and riparian or stream-margin buffers. We welcome inquiries about trees and supplies for public spaces and environmental improvement projects.
WATERING AND SUCCESSFUL ESTABLISHMENT
Adequate watering is one of the most important factors in successful establishment. For newly planted seedlings, HELP commonly recommends approximately 10 litres of water per tree per week through the growing season, adjusted for rainfall, soil, tree size and weather. Where rainfall is uncertain, drip irrigation can greatly improve the reliability of establishment. We can also provide information about plastic mulch, planting methods and ongoing tree care.
HOW TO ORDER — SPRING 2027
You have three convenient ways to order or arrange Spring 2027 trees:
1) ORDER ONLINE: Visit www.help-shelterbelts.com to review available stock and place your order. Special early-bird discounts also apply to paper orders paid by cheque at the time of ordering.
For assistance choosing tree varieties or planning a municipal shelterbelt project, email helpint@sasktel.net.
2) ORDER BY PAPER FORM: Complete the appended four-page paper order form (Appendix A) with your contact details, tree varieties and quantities. Return it to helpint@sasktel.net. To qualify for early-bird discounts, submit payment by cheque at the time of ordering (after confirming the amount with HELP). E-transfer payments to helpint@sasktel.net are also accepted, but paper orders paid by e-transfer do not qualify for early-bird discounts.
3) LARGE ORDERS — MORE THAN 1,000 TREES: You may express your intention to order by email or telephone. HELP can prepare a customized quotation for council consideration, followed by an invoice once your council approves the purchase.
BONUSES ON ALL ORDER METHODS: 5% bonus trees and an additional 5% mixed poplar or willow bonus for customers picking up their orders at the nursery apply regardless of whether the order is placed online, by paper form, or following an approved quotation.
AN ADDITIONAL OPPORTUNITY FOR FALL 2026
Although our principal focus is Spring 2027, we are still accepting eligible Fall 2026 orders for immediate shipping or pickup through October 31, 2026. Qualifying orders placed by October 31 can receive the 7% October discount, subject to stock availability and shipping arrangements.
A PERSONAL WORD OF THANKS
I extend my appreciation to the customers, landowners, communities, municipal officials and organizations who have supported HELP International and its shelterbelt programs over the years. Your support sustains a Canadian charitable organization dedicated to practical environmental improvements, community forestry and affordable tree production.
After more than 33 years, I remain committed to the belief that planting trees is among the most practical and enduring investments we can make in our farms, homes, communities and environment.
We look forward to helping you make Spring 2027 a successful tree-planting season.
With warm regards and best wishes,
Rodney Sidloski
